I didn't even attempt to make a birthday cake. I bought one and it was adorable. It was a Mickey Mouse and boy did that red and black get everywhere. I had a party for Byron at Mr. Gattis and the Dawsons, Starks, Jandts, and Hajovskys were all there. Everyone loved Byron. He had a smile that would melt your heart.
I took the kids to Brenham's Mayfest to watch the parade. Byron got to ride his first horse at the carnival. It is amazing how big he has grown. Bonnie rode the carousal and never smiled. She wasn't too excited about that.
That summer we played and played. One thing that I will never forget is our trip to Shlitterbaun. Bonnie had a swimming suit that had a duck on the front and a duck tail on the rear end. It was so cute to see her waddling around. Byron is our swimmer with no fear of the water, so we had to keep an eye on him at ALL times.
